It's time to have fun with Memory Monday. Pulled this photo from the way back machine. This was probably a day or two after Christmas, or later in the day on Christmas Day. My older brother Chuck with Bozo the Clown Punching Bag, Me with my easel chalk board, and my younger brother Mike...always the cowboy! My brother Mike would get up in the middle of the night and boot his cowboy boots on...sometimes he'd go back to bed wearing them, he loved being a cowboy.
Grab the badge, link back here, add yourself to the linky and visit others. Let's share a fun, funny, cute memory.
And today's prompt from Paula's is to write about your favorite movie.
The first one that came to mind is John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in "The Quiet Man". We watch it every year around St. Paddy's day, we quote from the memory often.
This is a sweet photo, your living room could have been ours-you were always creative. If it wasn't lavender time here I'd join in, hopefully next Monday.
ReplyDeleteMy mother loved John Wayne....
ReplyDeleteMy brother and I would always get to go to the movie BY OURSELVES (as 7 and 9 year olds and up in age) when there was a John Wayne movie playing.....loved that dear man!
ReplyDeleteMy brother had a punching clown like that. And he wore cowboy hats and carried Paladin guns....in holsters. I loved when I got Colorforms...that was my favorite....but then, I never got a chalk board like that. Lucky!!!
Thanks for coming by and reminding me about Memory Monday since my memory isn't what it used to be!!! lol I WILL join in!
Thanks all for the visits. Leave it to Davis...I had a thing about chalk boards, lol.
ReplyDeletesweet pictures...of a wonderfully simple times in our lives. None of these things run on electricity....isn't that a gem?
ReplyDeleteI loved my chalkboard too...and John Wayne...a personal favorite of ours around our house..even with my young sons.
What a fun picture!
ReplyDeleteRight you are Faith, no electric or batteries needed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa for the visit.
I've never seen that movie before, but I've heard about it, definitely a classic. So many movies, so little time.
ReplyDeleteI have the Memory Monday badge on my side bar....don't know how to include it in the post. Didn't I mention that it was on the side bar and to click on it? Gee....I'll have to go look....if I didn't, I'll edit to make sure they know. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the post. Would have killed to have gotten an easel like that. That clown was so popular it was still around up to the 70s. I had twin boys and got them a punching clown just like your brother's when they were younger....kept them from punching each other so much :)
