SLIPPERS...all different sizes and colors, great way to use up more of the odds and ends. Added these to the box that I need to run to the post office with shortly. It's heading to Michigan to Caring House, a Battered Womens Shelter. Some wee blue ones as well. Finished bright blocks ghan last night and will get it boxed shortly. Started a bright orange and yellow ghan, still working on multi colored ghan....though am thinking about frogging it. You know sometimes, it's just what you think it will be. Still pondering.
The ghan will be sent to Victory Gang Camp (Victory Junction)
Enjoyed watching the end of the hockey game last night, though hubby wanted Pitts to win, not Detroit was an exciting finish.
Errands need to be done.
Happy Thursday, one and all.
What cute slippers! And I love that afghan at the top. Great job! Do you use a pattern for the slippers or your own method?
ReplyDeleteSo many feet will be blessed!
ReplyDeleteGreat slippers and blanket...all the recipients will be nice and warm and toasty thanks to you!
ReplyDeleteHiya Sandy,
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question:
The Regional Summer Contest started on Memorial Day and will last till Labor Day. That is the one where people are divided up into regions (a la Team Ohio).
Personal Achievement Contest started May 1 and will last probably till around the holidays. People are competing for some gorgeous crafter gift baskets that Jezebel is going to make. As time goes on she is going to post pictures of some of the items she is gathering in order to motivate people :)
Hope that helps!
Thanks for your kind comment :)
ReplyDeleteYou can tag for as many things as you want -- and in fact, we prefer it that way. So, if you want to compete in both contests, your tags could look like this:
Regional Summer 08 Contest, "Team Ohio," Personal Achievement Contest 08, Michigan Women's Shelter, Slippers, Afghan
See? :)
Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteWe don't have team buttons, but we do have a Homespun Helpers web button. To see the code that you would need to copy to have it show up, go to this URL:
http://community.livejournal.com/homespunhelpers/262455.html?mode=reply
That's the livejournal community, which is where the code for the button was posted. :)
Hugs back at ya!
Thank you for your comment on my sweater. It's been a lot of fun working on it this week. The stitch pattern is a combination of a shell and a V-stitch. The designer, Doris Chan, likes to take older doily patterns and "explode" them by working the stitch patterns in worsted weight yarn instead of thread. Her patterns are really fun to make and comfortable to wear.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't discovered Blogger's new blogroll thing. Thank you for adding my blog and for calling my attention to the new thing! I'm off to try it on my own blog now.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I read your post over on Homespun Helpers Ravelry group, and I decided to stop moderating comments for now. I am going to try the word verification and see if that's enough to stop the spam. I will still get emails notifying me about comments, though, so I will know if someone leaves a comment on an older post. Hopefully this will work and make life easier for my readers.
Great slippers! I love the blue/green color mix! And that afghan is wonderful! cozy :)
