Happy Belated Happy Valentines to all. I don't tend to do lots of decorating for the various holidays, but do like to have the dining room table festive. I've had the placemats and napkins for a good number of years, but thought this year I needed something in the middle of the table and found these cute little hearts at CVS.
Do you decorate for the holidays? Did you celebrate the holiday? We went to dinner Sat night (not Friday the 14th), using a gift card our darling daughter got us for Christmas. Meal was excellent.
Coffee Latte Afghan is now done! Yippee, another project completed. This ghan has 206 stitches per row. I considered counting the rows to determine how stitches there were but didn't. Let's just say ALOT! Coffee Latte is here drying after being laundered. Smoothed it out, no real blocking was necessary. It's being donated to Bridge and Beyond (my charity that benefits the homeless).
Still working on jewel tone scarf (scroll to previous post), and potato chip scarf, (2 posts ago), but not enough difference to take another photo to share with you.
Not that I think there's anything funny about our current hot mess in White House; but this did at least make me smile. I do love my glasses!
I've tried to watch Monarch of the Glen, but haven't found it on Amazon Prime or Netflix, even though a google search says it's available.
I watched Season One of My Mother and Other Strangers, which I LOVED!
But, it ends with a real cliff hanger, and it's not clear if there will ever be a season 2. OMG!
Hated where it ended in season 1. I stayed up late to watch, as I couldn't force myself to go to bed.
I watched Season 1 of Virgin River, which also ended up in a bad spot cliff hanger. Geesh, when will season 2 be out? I hate getting involved in one of these series and then having to wait for the next season.
AND I watched Aristocrats
I would recommend all these though Aristocrats would be at the bottom of the list. This list is over the last month or so. Have you seen them? What did you think?

Lacy Yellow Shawl, A Bright Future, Get Your Amazon On!
Making headway, but slower than I would like with my yellow shawl. I tend not to work on this at night while watching tv. The light weight sock yarn and I do better in the light of day without distractions......thus it's taking longer. Since it's laying on my green chair and ottoman you can see through the yellow section better than the multi-colored sections. Think you can now better see the lacy effect better than you could before the yellow section was added.
Snarky.......yes, but it made me smile, so thought I'd share. So much going on right now, hard to keep up with all the scandals and lies. Never in my life did I think we'd be in such a state with so many people at the top being so inappropriate.
As a person who LOVES Amazon Prime..........I had to snatch this picture!

Cross Stitch, Table Cloths and Family
This is another cross stitch table cloth I found when cleaning out my Dad's house. I like this one a bit more then the blue one in the previous post. I assume it's done by the same person, but am not 100% certain of that. These colors work in my decor, but the size doesn't work for my table....so
Currently, it's on the rocker in the living room. The chair is one I've had for a long time, it was from my Great Aunt Irene, and I think she's possibly the stitcher. I think that because we know she once made a cross stitch framed piece that was the serenity prayer. She was my Dad's Dad's Sister. So, if my logic is right, it seems fitting that her stitchery is being displayed on her chair. But, you can't see the whole thing........anyone have thoughts about what else I might do with this cross stitched tabled cloth/family heirloom?
This is my Great Aunt Irene Mader. She was the only sister who didn't marry. She worked at the Post Office, had a really fun laugh. She was my Dad's favorite aunt. He'd stop and see her coming and going from dates back in the day. I remember them both talking about that in years past. Which is another reason I think the heirloom stitching pieces are hers. He would have been more inclined I think, to keep stuff from her.
A cropped photo from her grade school picture.
For my knitting and crochet friends.......here's an idea. I really like this idea, particularly for when you're using up ends of skeins. If you roll a ball it gets away from you on the floor, or you end up sitting on it if you try to keep it in your chair. I often keep it in a zip lock bag in a tote on the floor, but sometimes it doesn't unwind well. Sometimes I use my yarn bowl, but I like that this is right with you at the same height almost vs being on the floor. This would also be a huge plus for people with pets.
This is the most recent movie I watched. I'm not sure I would recommend it...it wasn't bad, but it wasn't real memorable either. It was a bit odd, sorta the odd that when you start you think maybe you won't finish it, but it's odd enough you wonder what will happen next so play through. Anyone seen it? What did you think? If anyone watches it, let me know what you think. It was on Amazon Prime.
No new pictures of my shawl, cause it doesn't look much different. I thought I would be done by now, but life has gotten in the way. Dad isn't doing well, so have been busier doing things connected to him and his care at the Assisted Living Center, and frankly getting some things in line, as we believe his time with us won't be very long. Trying to take care of details, dotting i's and crossing t's where we can to make things a bit easier on all when the time comes. Hospice is seeing him more often now, which is helpful.

Eating, Knitting, and De-Cluttering and
Breakfast is served. When our daughter is home, we always have her make breakfast because she makes really good omelets. I'm getting better, but.........no, I don't try to flip them over by flipping the pan. She does. We shared a 4 egg omelet with onion, peppers, spinach, mushrooms, and cheedar cheese. I sliced avocado for the top. We had some bacon and raisin cinnamon english muffins.
Earth and Sky continues to grow. Have added the 2nd tan section and am now working with the next variegated section. I measured it when I took the picture and have already forgotten how wide it is.......geesh, should have written it down. Oh well...it's growing and looking more and more like it will be an ok size when I get the current variegated section followed by light green followed by another variegated section and then dark green to end. I'm thinking now, I may not need to find another color of yarn and pick up on the other side. Fingers crossed.
This looks less complicated then many designs I've seen posted. Grapes, and cheeses...I don't know possibly this would be worth doing?
I'm making headway with my de-cluttering. Though actually I've done a few things since editing my calendar. I ended up erasing stuff that simply didn't pertain to me, things with toys, games, and my car, and then typed in stuff that I'm doing and or needs doing. That worked better than when I tried to type at the end of the calendar.
I haven't shared any new series with you all in a while. This is a must!!! A Place to Call Home on Amazon Prime, but you do need a membership to Acorn and it's definately worth it. It's 6 seasons and I was totally addicted to it, staying up late at night watching.
LOVED it, let me know if you watch and what you thought. AND if you've not watched............treat yourself to a months membership and binge watch.
**BLOG QUESTION:
There used to be a way to see whom you've visited on your blog log because the link would change color. It's driving me nuts that feature seems to be gone. Anyone else having that trouble? Anyone know how to fix that problem?
