Knitting and Watching and trying to eat Light

Jeweled Lines has grown to about double the size from when you last saw it last with the addition of the green and now back to the amethyst.  Thanks for the input on the names between this blog and my charity blog, Bridge and Beyond.  I like the suggested name of Jeweled Lines, better than the flip of it, which is what I had initially.  I'm still not quite sure if this will be enough yarn with adding the green; but as yet.........still can't get to the basement to look further at my stash, so will play through and see what happens.  Though I did do some steps today for the first time at therapy...so might be able to soon.

Watched this show, Tulip Fever on Netflix recently.  I can't say I would recommend it.  It was dark...dark in the way it was filmed (somewhat on purpose I suppose 1634 in Amsterdam), but also a bit dark in it's storyline.  It wasn't at all believeable, though the write ups discussed how this was a long awaited film from Harvey Weinstein.  That in fact, it took 17 years to come to the screen.  First it was released in Germany from what I read in 2017.  The right up portrayed how this was a historic event and was expected to be much bigger than it was...........but, doing a bit more research I see The Smithsonian says the primary story about Tulip Fever is in fact NOT true.  If you watch it, I'll be interested in hearing if you liked it.  Not all reviews were bad.  This wasn't a series, it was a movie.  So, you can watch it without committing much to do so.
Have been trying to eat light (this was lunch) since my level of activity is soooo much less than normal with the broken foot.  Though this past week, I've not done as well as above.

  1. Jewelled Lines is coming along beautifully.
I hope you can get to that stash again soon.
Your lunch looks delicious and much better than I usually eat - despite good intentions.

  2. Thank you for your sweet words about Jeweled Lines. Eating light isn't easy, I do well for awhile then slip back into bad habits. But, the bad habits are more of a problem now than before when I was walking/stepping 5-6 miles daily.

  3. Love the look of your lunch. Eating lighter and eating less meat seems to be what my body prefers - but doing so often involves more effort in the kitchen and I am pretty lazy about all things kitchen! Not my favorite room! Ha. And since I am feeding a meat eater (husband), I am still committed to making full meals for dinners. But I think I could move toward a plant based diet if I was only feeding myself.

    1. Right you are, it does involve more work in the kitchen. More thought at the grocery store also. My husband is like yours and so it does make it hard. I don't want to give up a good steak, but could cut way back on meat I think.

  4. Your blanket is coming along nicely, the colours are working well together. I haven't heard of Tulip Fever before but I'm not sure it would be my kind of thing. I love lunches like that, plenty of choice on the plate but nothing too stodgy, we've got the weather for light lunches here at the moment.

    1. Thanks for the visit Jo, much appreciated. I'm liking these colors as well. Trying to have colorful choices on the plate helps....but, I haven't been successfully daily.

  5. Jeweled Lines is doing well. I am liking the play with the colors.

So goid to hear you were able to do a few steps at therapy. Hopefully that means a walking boot will be in your future shortly. Or maybe no boot at alk!!!

    1. I've been in a walking boot for about 2 months, so this some walking in shoes. Gonna takes some time to build strength, endurance, and range of motion again once the xrays show it's healed enough to be out of the boot.

I like the colors as well.

  6. I tried to send you a reply to your blog comment but your system didn't accept it. Thanks for your comment and for stopping by my blog. I was interested to see that you watch a lot of UK television. Have you watched either the current or the older version of Poldark?

    1. Thanks for the visit Ann, nice to meet you and hope to visit regularly. I LOVED the current version of Poldark and am very anxious for season 4 to make it to the US.

  7. When things are shot so dark that you can barely see it, it gets very annoying. That and the whole shaky camera thing every ten seconds both get a switch off from me.

    1. Excellent point Pat. I guess some thing the darkness and shaking camera are artistic, I find it annoying. Thanks for the visit.

  8. Thanks for your visit, I love the colours of your blanket, must be frustrating not being able to reach your stash. Do hope your foot is on the mend. I agree on the comments of eating light, so hard though, I make cauliflower rice and courgette spirals as a change from rice and pasta, that might help take care xcx

    1. I read about cauliflower rice and thought it sounded good, totally forgot about that will need to go look it up again. Thanks for the reminder. Not familiar with courgette spirals, will google that ...but do enjoy using my spiralizer with sweat potato and zucchini. Thanks for tips and visit.

  9. Hi Sandy, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, it's so nice to meet new to me bloggers :-)
Your Jeweled Lines knitting is looking good, well done with eating lighter, I do struggle with that as there are not many fruits I like and I just can't eat salad except as an accompaniment to something more substantial, lol.

    1. I tend to do better with veggies than I do fruit, it's all a process. Thanks for the visit, hope to see you often.
