Let's Start at the Very Beginning, A Very Good Place to Start.....

Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...are you singing with me?  Bet you are, lol.  This is the beginning of a baby blanket for our newest family member, my great-great niece, Leia.  It reminds me sherbert with the light and dark pinks, and mint green.  I hope this won't take too long to knit; but it's 165 stitches for one row, so it's not going to be a quick project.

A fascinating true story about Cornelia Fort, Nancy Love, and Jacqueline Cochran among the 1,100 women who became pilots, who ferried bombers, who trined the men who had far less hours flying to serve their country.  Another situation where the women didn't receive the respect and honor they deserved until after the fact.  Highly recommend this book.
Those in Peril is a novel with lots of twists and turns about billionaire Hazel Bannock and Major Hector Cross.  The author, Wilbur Smith describes the book as a tale of sex, violence, and other things through in.......like Somali Pirates.  A very different sort of book for me; but one you keep reading/listening to........because you must know what happens next.
Three Sisters by Heather Morris is considered to be book 3 (#1 The Tattooist of Auschwitz, #2 Cilka's Journey), but I believe it can easily be read/listened to as a stand alone book.  Three Slovakian sisters survived the horrors of the death camps.  As the Allies were moving in, The Nazies forced Men, Women, and Children on the Death March; but the sisters escaped and their story of surivival is riveting.

I've added my stats to the tab across the top of my blog.  June was a so-so month.  I traveled one week,  and bascially maintained.
Planks down to 12 from 13 the previous month (Full arm planks)
Side Planks   up to 4 from 2 the previous month
Walks    9 (forgot to record May), miles slightly down from 104.
94 to 102.54
High Steps  down from 4 to 2 from the previous month
Mowing, the same 5 x
**I did not manage to do any Silver Sneakers Classes in June

HELP NEEDED:

I have Windows 11 on my laptop, I have Samsung Android Cell, and an ipad.  Recently I got a notice on my computer indicating I could use something called Phone Link to link my phone and my computer.  Pictures, texts etc would appear in both places.  Typically I use my phone to take pictures, then transfer the pictures I want to my computer for use on my blogs and or just photo's I want to keep.  Once I do this I generally delete the photo on my phone so I don't have lots of things on my phone taking up space/storage.  Has anyone used this app to have everything automatically on your phone and your computer?  If so, do you like it?  I can see it would save time; but ...........what I've not been able to find out is, if I delete a picture I no longer need or want on my phone does it automatically delete it from my computer?  Thanks for any info any of you may have on this.

  1. My dad was a huge fan of Wilbur Smith, he read most of his books, and there's a lot, haha. I didn't know that Heather Morris has a new book out, I've read the other two so this one will definitely be added to my list.

The books sound interesting. About 3 sisters, just 4 months ago I went to Scotland and in the Highlands there are 3 mountains over a fall called 3 sisters.

    1. Not sure why you had trouble using name and url, as you've done that before; but you can always leave a hyperlink by using <a href="here you type your url....after that you add> and then add your name. Let me know if you have trouble in the future.

I suspect I would very much like both The Women with Silver Wings and the latest Heather Morris book. Thank you.

    1. Thank you, but I doubt very much that you read anything; given your comment. Note I've once again deleted your comment (which was your 2nd comment) that read please read my blog. If you want people to read your blog stop posting that as your comment. Take time to read other blogs and make appropriate comments. If you do that people most likely will reciprocate and read your blog; but no one is going to when that's all you post by way of a comment.

  6. Congrats on a great great niece, but you can’t be old enough for that! I’ve not heard of Phone Link, but technology exhausts me. I’ve been putting off setting up a new, more advanced router for our home.

    1. You're right, I'm not old enough to be a great great aunt, I told her that. I do ok with technology, but am by no means really accomplished. Hoping someone who is will be able to answer.

  8. Dear Sandy
The new blanket is looking great. I can't help on the technology front - I am a techno-dinosaur! I hope you manage to get it sorted through.
    Have a good week.

I'm dealing with something similar with photos. I have mine on Google photos, but when I take it off my phone, it disappears from Google photos. And like you, I don't want to fill my phone up...

Not sure about the deleting of the picture as I have windows 10 and can use phone similar to you can on windows 11...just try a photo you have taken of something you don't need to keep and see if it deletes it off your phone - just an idea..

  15. The colors of the blanket are lovely. What stitch/pattern are you using?
Funny, I just picked up "Three Sisters" at a garage sale. I had heard of book #1 but wasn't aware it was a series. I've just dipped into the book, but what I've read so far has been quite interesting.
Sorry, although I have Windows 11 and an Samsung phone (Android), I've never heard of Phone Link. I don't take a lot of phone photos, as I still prefer my Canon.

    1. The blanket is straight garter stitch, the yarn has lots of texture which almost hides the fact that it's garter stitch. I used to use a Canon also, but then with new phones the quality of the pictures was better on the phone, so stop using the Canon. Fun coincidence about you finding the book 3 Sisters at a garage sale!!

  16. Wish I could offer techy advice, but I just can't. Sorry.
Sounds as though you're doing great with the exercise routines. Any kind of plank is tough. So, I can't offer advice, but I'm good for support and encouragement. Be proud, and keep on keeping on, Sandy.

  17. I also transfer my photos from my cell phone to my PC... I'm not so quick with deleting them. It has happened to me that the storage capacity was exhausted... I have no idea about your program.
I wish you a lot of fun...especially when knitting :-))) nice colors and yes, you have long rows and it's always fun to change colors.
    Thanks for the book tip.
    Greetings to you from Viola

  19. Great start on the blanket. You are doing much better at reading than I am though I have many books to read and several on the go. Was just mentioning earlier to a blog friend that I hate linking any sort of accounts. iCloud downloaded a ridiculous amount of photos to my computer and now I can't even hook up to my computer to transfer photos because for some reason they don't show up. I have to email pics to myself only 10 at a time. And google is constantly reminding me that I need to purchase more storage space but I refuse. Hope you figure things out. I am not a fan of all this tech stuff when it starts to become tedious. Take care.

    1. Sorry to hear you're having picture/storage issues as well. It seems everytime they "make things better", it's not as easy or quick as it was before they made changes. Frustrating for sure.

  20. P.S. Since you are a no-reply comment blogger, I'll respond here -- thanks for stopping by my corner of the world. I'm making doilies to use up my cotton yarn and will keep them on hand to give as gifts when anyone visits. Or even to just give away when I meet up with my craft group. Just trying to use what I've got before I even think about buying any new supplies.

    1. Thanks for the follow up. I wondered because you've made so many in lots of fun colors so I was curious. Good way to use up left over cotton. I tend to only use cotton for washcloths.

  25. I don't link up or... in my case 'sync' the phone and the computer. My photos are on Google photos but what I take with my cell phone is rarely anything I do keep.
I keep things from my camera and then transfer any keepers to a portable hard drive.

Congrats on the new family member. I just found out I will be a grandma to a little girl!

    1. Congrats to you as well at becoming a grandma! I haven't yet decided what to do about this synching and photo's. Wish I could talk to someone who's done it. Don't want to do something I can't undo.
