Patriotic booties and hat for newborn. This last set fills my box, and completes this donation to Marine Corp. Kids (link on sidebar). I sent 5 newborn sets, plus one extra pair of booties, and 3 preemie sets with 2 additional hats. They are all knitted, and vary in colors. Blue variegated, light pink, yellow, brown variegated, rose etc. Think most have been pictured here earlier as they were finished. Marine Corp Kids sends donations to various military hospital when wee ones are born while Daddy's deployed. Such a small thank you for all they do.
I must now focus on finishing up some long over do ghans that are in my project bags. I don't like having them hang over my head for as long as they have.
Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comments over at the blogs. I know you initially were not a fan of the "charity a month" thing...please remember, that's just a guidepost. You can still do whatever you want. You don't have to make things for that month's charity if you don't want to. If we go ahead with this big charity to focus on thing, no one has to donate to that unless they want to. It's just a way to make recommendations -- there were a lot of people, especially when we first started, who wanted to make things but didn't know where to donate them. That's where it comes from.
You can always do whatever you want -- I'm never going to create a situation in Homespun Helpers where you HAVE to do anything except have a good time doing your charitable crafting :) If that becomes stressful, then I want you to take a break!
Hope that helps...feel free to post more questions or concerns!
How sweet! When my grandchild was born he wore a hand-crocheted hat that someone donated. It was so precious!!! That mom who gets your hat and booties for her newborn will be touched, for sure!
ReplyDeleteHow fun and what a great donation....awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great hat and booties set! One of my goals next year is to make some items for Marine Corps Kids. I think it's a great charity, but I've never managed to donate anything to them. But I think next year, I need to tame the baby yarn stash, so I want to make a bunch of charity baby items, and I am definitely planning to donate to Marine Corps Kids.
