I've never made this cute relish plate that looks like a turkey, but saved the picture from a few years back. Someone was pretty creative.
This was many many years ago. This was Mom I'm thinking maybe 40ish years ago.
This is about the same time frame, as the family was small enough we were all able to sit together around Mom's beautiful table. Those days of using the family china etc and all sitting together are long gone. I think there were 8-10 of us back in the day.
One year when people were sick and we didn't get together. It was just hubby, Darling Daughter and me at our place. We used the antique family dishes. This might have been during Covid? I didn't date it, so am not 100% certain.
Fun outdoor decorations I spotted on a walk through the neighborhood a few years back.
Darling Daughter, Myself, and Hubby, the same year as the table picture above.
Our Thanksgiving this year will be at my youngest nephews house. He has a nice large house with plenty of moving around room for 21 of us. At least I think that's the latest head count. We'll take a Pumpkin and Cherry pie with whip cream, 2 veggie casseroles (cranberries, Brussel Sprouts, and Butternut squash), and Bakes Brie in a pastry sheet with fig jam and crackers.
If you're traveling for the holiday, safe travels. AND Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

21 people is quite a crowd! We have 11 and I feel like it's crazy enough, but 4 of those are little ones. I enjoyed your photos from Thanksgivings past, too!
ReplyDeleteOf our 21 there will 5 kiddos grade school and middle school age.
DeleteDear Sandy, your photos, both past and present, are beautiful and heartwarming.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing.
I also want to thank you for your visit and kind comment on my blog. I really appreciate it so much. I post on Mondays and Thursdays.
I wish you a wonderful rest of the week and warm greetings from Montreal, Canada π ❤️ π¨π¦

DeleteThat veggie turkey is very cute! I made a veggie Christmas tree for a party one year. Hope you have a lovely holiday!
ReplyDeleteHope you'll post a picture of your veggie Christmas Tree between now and Christmas.
Delete...this is the second year that we are hosting, but ours are doing t he "heavy" work. I wish you a Happy Thankisgiving.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice others are doing the heavy work.
DeleteThat gorgeous veggie turkey looks like something my sister would do. She of the many fancy cookies!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing pictures from past yearsπ.
I hope your Thanksgiving is a good one.
Thanks so much Granny. Share the picture with your sister if you like, maybe she'll make it.
DeleteThanks, Sandy, for your comment on my post about our Portugal trip. We did tour with Collette Tours as we have for the past few years. This trip started in Lisbon and ended there as well.
ReplyDeleteOur tour is titled Sunny Portugal with Porto, it's a 13 day tour. They also had an 11 day tour titled Sunny Portugal highlighting Porto? I think that was the name. I know they change tours now and again. Was yours the 11 day? I think it started and ended in Lisbon. We'll have to compare.
DeleteHello Sandy,
ReplyDeleteWell, the 'Turkey relish plate' looks to have been quite the work of art!! It would have been difficult to take anything from it and spoil the effect. This reminds us of the problem of chocolate eggs shaped like rabbits or teddy bears....so difficult to bite their heads off!!
Your Thanksgiving this years sounds as if it will be a great crowd. Your own contributions sound delicious and what fun it will all be to gather together. We hope that you all have a very happy time. And, thank you for your kind Thanksgiving wish sent to us.
Agree when you compare the chocolate eggs and rabbits etc.
DeleteHave a very Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you all enjoy the time you spend together.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Ellie
Thank you Ellie.
DeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Jackie.

DeleteHappy Thanksgiving and Happy December, we had a fun Thanksgiving. We did have some interesting weather, snow, rain, snow and wind. We all made it safe and all made it back safe.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all the photos.
Whew that's lots of different and dangerous weather, glad you all made it safe.
DeleteI hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Day this year with the family. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much

ReplyDeleteBe well, Sandy.
Thanks for the sweet comment.
DeleteThe first picture is an amazing relish plate. I wonder how long it takes to put that together! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI know, I think it would take great patience to put it all together.
DeleteHope you had a lovely Thanksgiving with your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much

DeleteThat turkey relish plate is adorable, what a fun and creative idea to tuck away for future holidays. Your nephew’s house sounds like the perfect gathering spot for a crowd of 21, and your menu contributions, especially the veggie casseroles and baked brie, sound absolutely delicious.
ReplyDeleteI've shared that picture with one of my nieces who's very good with decorating etc, thought she might put it together; but she didn't. I don't think I have the patience to do it, but thought it was worth sharing. Thanks so much.
