Buckeye Blitz Completed

Days almost over, but am finally getting this post written.  Buckeye Blitz is completed, has been; but I was delayed in getting the post up.  It's Sunday, year of projects post time.  WOW

Like most of you, life's so busy this time of the year.  Work is always extra busy during December; or at least up until now.  Sigh of relief.  Finally got the house all decorated for Christmas and am looking forward to our Daughter coming home for Christmas.  We've got girl stuff planned, like hair appointments and massages.  We both enjoy doing that together.

Buckeye Blitz is another afghan I've assembled from donated squares through Bridge and Beyond and is the 5th of 10 on my list to be made from donated squares.  Haven't worked lately on Sand and Sea (the knitted feather and fan ghan), have knitted quite a bit on my traveling jewel scarf; but........am thinking about frogging it.  All of sudden I'm not in love with it.

  1. I love it! Roughly how big are the squares?

  2. Another stunner! Well done!

Sounds heavenly - hair appointment and massage. I have the week off between Christmas and New Years and was just wondering what to do with myself. Maybe I should start making some appointments :) ?

  3. Thanks for the visits and comments, Cris and Minding My Own Stitches, appreciate it. Cris the squares started out around 7.5 inches before I added the gray and black and they're now close to 10.5, so added about 3 inches to each one, and there are 16 squares. Must have looked at the wrong note when I listed measurements for this, it's about 43 inch square.

  4. It is a busy time of year, but always a memorable time as well. I'm looking forward to more knitting time. The blanket is beautiful, I still really like it because of the unique pattern and color choices.

  6. I really love the colours in buckeye blitz, really lovely and your doing great on reaching 5/10 on the afghans. I'd say if your not in love with the jewel scarf frog it or leave it aside for a bit and then decide, nothing worse than working on something your not feeling the love of.
I hope you enjoy your week with your DD, sounds totally fun and girrly and is wonderful to share.

  8. I gotta say that your afghans are just spectacular! They are so beautiful. How long does it take for you to crochet/knit one square???? How do you find the time???

  9. Hi Martini, I assembled the afghan from donated squares. The squares were just the red and white and I added the gray and the black to make them larger...so I'm not sure how long that took, as I was working on several things at the same time. According to my blog picture and post, I was starting with the gray edging around Dec 1st.

  10. Another lovely afghan, your crochet will be keeping a lot of families warm this Christmas.

Have a lovely time with your daughter! I would wait a little bit before frogging too.
