Peppermint Afghan, and Audio Books,

Peppermint is Done with a curly/ruffle edge. Here's it's laid out after being laundered...so it's blocked and drying.
Here's it laid out right before I tossed it in the laundry.  I think these pictures are pretty true to color unlike the previous post.

A little different than my normal reading, Crow Mary by Kathleen Grissom was excellent.  I learned more about Native Americans trying to live like they were White.  Crow Mary was a very strong woman.  I think you'll enjoy the book.

The Bishop's Wife by Robert Nathan was a real dud.  It came highly recommended and since it was a short book, I did finish it..........but regret doing so.  I kept thinking it would get better.  It didn't.  I found nothing interesting, or memorable about this book.  If it's on your list, do yourself a favor a draw a line through it.  I under this book was made into a movie back in the day; no desire to watch the movie.

Not much in this book, "The Cult of Trump" by Steven Hassan didn't surprised me, but his insight about how cults come to be and how the leaders of cults control their members is interesting AND it's exactly what we see each and everyday with this regime.  How will these folks get deprogrammed?  AND how will we survive if they don't see the light!!

The fact that they made up an award for him, then he was given a Noble Peace Prize 2nd hand has given the creative meme folks lots of material to work with.
Sadly, this seems 2,000% on the mark to me, given the horrific things we see daily about how ICE is behaving.
Can you spell hypocrite!!!!!
He thinks he will make people forget about Pedo files.  He's wrong.

  1. Your blanket looks just lovely. I really like the frilly edge.
I made the mistake of making a comment on a cousins Facebook post and have had nothing but nasty comments since. A great many of her friends are Trump enthusiasts and it drives me crazy. I want to tell them to move if they hate Canada and our government that much.

    God bless.

    1. Anyone in a cult needs to go through some sort deprogramming or they'll likely to continue the same behavior.

The Cult of Trump...I have used this term many times describing his methods. He is definitely one to be careful of.

  7. The blanket looks lovely. (The Bishop's Wife (1947) is one of my favourite Christmas films - Cary Grant, David Niven and Loretta Young. I haven't read the book though, so can't comment on that.)

The peppermint afghan with the cute ruffle is so sweet.
I meant to watch The Bishop's Wife over the holidays but I didn't get around to it. Now I won't bother. I didn't read the book either. Granny M ( For some reason I'm anonymous here today.)

    1. It's an afghan, not a rug. It's laid out on the floor to dry after being laundered. Let me know if you read the book what you think.

  12. I wish that your country was as beautiful as your Afghan, Sandy, but armed, masked thugs committing public executions in the street does nothing to burnish its image.

  16. Hi Sandy,
I appreciated your comments on my blog. Enjoy your winter in South Carolina. :-) Our son was at Fort Jackson, South Carolina for his basic training. We traveled for his graduation, it was my first visit to South Carolina.

  20. Yes, your Afghan is lovely. Peppermint is a fun name for it too, Sandy.

I don't think those folks can or will ever get de-programmed. When they're done worshipping Trump, if they are ever done, they'll transfer that worship to someone of that ilk. It's as mind boggling as it is disturbing, right?

Take good care and keep stitching.

    1. Wish I could say you're wrong about them getting deprogrammed, but am afraid you're right. I just don't understand how they can be so truly disconnected with all he's done to destroy this country, and it's not just our country that is suffering because of him.

  21. The peppermint shawl looks fantastic and those memes are doing some heavy emotional labor these days—if we didn’t laugh at the fake awards and the hypocrisy, we’d probably just start screaming and never stop.

  22. Hi Sandy, I have no idea what's going on with blogger, I remember leaving a comment a few months ago but why it's on a 2024 post I do not know, then again maybe I did when you get to my age you start to question everything haha. Thank you for your visit anyway, I love your afghan such pretty colours.

  23. I enjoyed reading about your peppermint Afghan and how it looked after blocking. Your thoughts on Crow Mary have made me add it to my reading list, and I appreciate your honest book reviews; it’s always helpful to hear what resonated with you and what didn’t.
