Mish Mosh my Week or So

Sharing these beautiful flowers my daughter gave me for Mother's Day a few years ago.  Why now?  Pretty sure I did way back as well, but why now?  Cause it's ugly, cold, dark, and dreary out and I wanted to see something pretty.  I may add a count down to Spring on my blog.

No, I haven't done any Christmas Decorating yet, but I did manage to change place mats, and napkins prior to Thanksgiving with a nice colorful fall look.  Even leaf glass holders that go with the leaf napkin rings.  Now...I need to dig around and see where my Christmas ones are.  I might have discarded them last year....after having the same ones and not sure they held up after being laundered......hum, not sure.

Not me, but I started 2 new apps for doing a 30 day plank challenge.  Had no clue there were so many different types of planks.  I don't find these easy to do at all!

AND these really hurt my shoulders, plus I can't get straight like this, so not going to be doing these anymore.  Made my low back hurt as well.

There's a heater inside.  2nd to last home football game for The Ohio State Buckeyes, and it was COLD.  Having the tarps up on 2 sides really helped block the wind while we tailgated.  And the game after this one rained so I didn't go.  Sat through one really bad rain a few weeks prior and just wasn't up for it again.

Thought some of my knitting and crochet friends would enjoy this.  A few on there I've never heard of...PIG...oh how I should show you pictures of that system I have, except I have up-scaled it and they're not in grocery bags, but canvass totes.

I'm still working on Potato Chip Scarf, just haven't taken any new pictures.  It's coming along.  AND I've managed to fight the start-itis problem, but did spend lots of time today and found the next pattern I want to make....so, I predict something will get started probably before Potato Chip is finished.  Just saying.

How's your week coming along?

  1. Dear Sandy
We all need something pretty to look at during the dull days of Winter.
I think the Knitters Code could be applied to many crafts - I recognised myself in several of these, especially STABLE (and WITHWIT too!) It made me smile so thank you for that!
    Best wishes

  2. Sandy: I like the photo of the flowers, I think you should do a count down to spring, I just counted weeks to spring here 16 weeks ewwww.
I have to say I do not knit or crochet but love the PIG description on the list, it made me smile.

    Merry Christmas

  3. A friend of mine said she was going to start buying fresh flowers to brighten up the house because of the dull ugly days. I may do the same. Glad you got a smile out of the PIG, right you are it related to any of us doing any craft. Thank you for the visit, always enjoyable.

  4. "Pig" made me laugh out loud! Some others were new to me also! I have minimal decorations up but only because my daughter wanted to do it ... before Thanksgiving. Now I am grateful for that push.

  5. Love the Knitters Code, which applies to many other creative endeavours too.
I am hanging out for winter (or at least autumn) and admiring cool images from your side of the world.
No decorations up here. Yet. Hopefully I will get off my lazy fundament soon.

  8. The flowers are beautiful, definitely worth sharing again, especially with the weather as it is now, we all need cheering up. I haven't decorated for Christmas yet either, hopefully this weekend. I did chuckle at that knitter's code, I think there's lots there that apply to many of us.

  10. Plank can sure be done in many a way. The side one and normal one I can do. Never tried the latter one up there, think I'll stray from it as not sure my shoulders would like it either.

    1. I'm with ya Pat. No point in hurting oneself when trying to get fit. When they call for the reverse one, I just do a regular or full arm plank instead.

  11. Hey Sandy, I saw where you visited my blog. The comment didn't show in my email for some reason. I just happened to go back and look and noticed. I am sorry I didn't respond. I did type a comment back in the blog post as a reply, but I am sure you won't see it. I am with you for a countdown to spring or at least lighter days. Even here on the coast it has been so gloomy and rainy.
I have never seen some of those acronyms. They are similar to many in the cross stitch world. PIG for sure was one I had not heard. I need to try those planks.
