Frogging a Work in Progress or Not?

Started this project a month or so ago as part of another class on Crafty's on Colorworks.  A scarf, each section a different technique.  All the yarns I selected blend..or at least they looked like they did lining up the skeins.  But, I'm not sure now.  The idea was to have the orange throughout and pair it with a different color (primarily blues) in each section.  I'm also not sure I've selected the same weight of yarns...as some in my stash are without labels.  They looked and felt the same in the skeins and balls, but working with them, I'm really not sure.  I can feel WW ...these aren't.  They might be DK, but different brands sometimes vary.

To frog or to continue, that is the question.  I've laid it aside, for several weeks trying to decide.  The first section is blue, not gray, but it looks gray in the picture.

Thumbs up or thumbs down?  What do you think?  I am learning new stitches and techniques, might consider not making the full scarf, make it a cowl?

Thoughts?

Meanwhile, it's time to put on my walking shoes and get some steps in, have fallen behind a bit there.

Unknitting on Monday

Liberty Lace........argh. I've put this scarf aside now for the 3rd time. Pick it up do a section, put it away. Bottom line.............I don't like these colors. I'm wondering what in the world they would go with. Here's what the scarf look liked before the Unknitting took place. Unknitting, negative knitting are words I've come across lately in place of the very well known....frogging it. See the ball on the left, those are the colors I thought I was getting when I purchased the yarn. I didn't know there was purple, or yellow or green.

Now, the question is...........what to do with the yarn. It's lovely wool, DK weight, has a fabulous feel to it. Not sure, but wonder..........what different stitch would make the yarn look prettier? Knitting lengthwise would the color blocks be more acceptable? They'd be smaller groups of the colors, right? Maybe nothing but knitting this on large needles lenthwise would be the answer? Or just plain garter stitch with regular sized needles? Thoughts?

In the meantime, needed a no counting project to tote with....so this is in the works.
First thought was to strip this, sorta a version of scarlet and gray (Buckeye colors). But, as I continued to working, the gray has such suttle changes in shades, doing sections one might not see the blend from dark to light and in between. Leaning towards one gray scarf and one reddish vs the 2 colors together. Opinions?

A Frogging we will Go

oddball blanketI'm round 2 on this Odd Ball Blanket, it's theme is Candy Land. I didn't realize until I got it that they used sport weight yarn..........something I never buy or use. Or at least haven't in YEARS. I have so much yarn in my stash I didn't wish to buy more. Searched for Caron Simply Soft, another yarn I don't like to use; though I think it's slightly better knitted vs crocheted. The yarn isn't wrapped well and always splits and irritates me. Not liking the 2 purples together at all. It's in que to be frogged, which seems perfectly in line with me. I was frogging voice wise for a few days and totally without a voice for a few more. This time of year, constant changing weather, play not nice with my allergies.
start of a scarfStarted what was going to be a light weight scarf with this soft and thin sock yarn. Though not really red and gray, I thought it looked close to being ok for a Buckeye (Ohio State's Colors). Not liking the way this was shaping up so tossed it aside and worked on something else. My plan was to have made this when the weather was still ok...cool, but not nasty. That plan didn't work so well, so this too is in que to be frogged.

Now I'm actually less congested, head hurts a bit less, but now running a low grade temp....to bad I can't make myself quickly better...like I can these two projects by frogging and starting over.
