Frogging a Work in Progress or Not?

Started this project a month or so ago as part of another class on Crafty's on Colorworks.  A scarf, each section a different technique.  All the yarns I selected blend..or at least they looked like they did lining up the skeins.  But, I'm not sure now.  The idea was to have the orange throughout and pair it with a different color (primarily blues) in each section.  I'm also not sure I've selected the same weight of yarns...as some in my stash are without labels.  They looked and felt the same in the skeins and balls, but working with them, I'm really not sure.  I can feel WW ...these aren't.  They might be DK, but different brands sometimes vary.

To frog or to continue, that is the question.  I've laid it aside, for several weeks trying to decide.  The first section is blue, not gray, but it looks gray in the picture.

Thumbs up or thumbs down?  What do you think?  I am learning new stitches and techniques, might consider not making the full scarf, make it a cowl?

Thoughts?

Meanwhile, it's time to put on my walking shoes and get some steps in, have fallen behind a bit there.

  3. Hi Sandy - saw your name on the list and thought I'd pop over to say hello as I am a "new" member too for Celebrate the Small Things. I'm so pleased I did as I love all forms of craft and making things so am going to be "following" from now on! Your scarf seems a clever idea for learning new stitches and putting them to good use in a practical way. Lots of people like a good mash-up and its quirkiness is appealing - if it was me I'd be continuing. I also took part in the A to Z & am now on the Road Trip so will be popping over to your other blog to check it out too :) All the best Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace

  5. Hi Sandy,

If you're trying to decide whether to frog or not or to just keep going with the project or not. Ask yourself this: "Do you love it? It the project, the pattern, the yarn, the stitches are they calling to you?" Or is this something that you can either take it or leave it? I have WIP that just don't give any joy or contentment anymore, so I know it's time to move onto something else & re=purpose the yarn & the needles for something else.

    1. Thanks Deb....I think you're onto something here. The stitches were callingout to me, but I think maybe it's the wrong yarn and colors to work the way I envisioned in my head.

  6. Hi. You'll enjoy the Celebrate blog hop a lot. It's one of the best, because there is always something to celebrate in life.
(p.s. I have no idea what 'frogging' is here, but I'm guessing it has something to do with jumping a stitch :)
