Catching up, Squares, Sweater, & Spring!

Finally got my Buckeye Sweater finished. It's knitted with Lion Brand Woolese. What nice yarn to work with. Tis my sister-in-law modeling it, and doing the "O" for OHIO. She seems very happy with the sweater. I need to make 2 more, one for myself and one for the other gal we tailgate with. Hoping to get them both done before next football season begins. Was really pleased I was able to find football buttons. Found several different ones; but like these the best and hope to find more of them.

I managed to send some squares to both Patriotic Angels (5 6 inch squares and 2 hats), and 10 8 inche squares to Patriotic Afghans. Squares were all crocheted, the green hat is crocheted, the pink one is knitted, and the above sweater is knitted. The sweater though wasn't a charity item

  1. Your sweater is awesome. I tend to shy away from sweaters...the ones I've made in the past never quite fit like I envisioned.

To answer you question about how to increase without using a yarn over...knit in front and back of the same stitch. Result...no hole :) Couldn't be easier :)

    Happy knitting :)

  3. You do wonderful knitting and crocheting. I love the sweater and it fits your friend so well! Like Hakucho said, I have a hard time getting sweaters to fit right and it's disappointing after all that work :-)
My favourites are all the baby blankets you have knit and crocheted! They are so pretty.
    Hugs to you.

  4. Awesome sweater!! I love the buttons! You have been sooo busy!
Yes, we've been in Iowa for a little over a month now - things are finally settling down! :) I'm anxious to get back to crocheting!

  5. Oh Ms.Sandy,
Did I ever tell you my ex-mother in law knits a little hat and coat type thingy (as all babies wore in her day and time)for the premies that come out of the neo-natal unit at Huntsville Hospital. Her daughter, which is also named Sandy, is the chief nurse of that unit. :) Because of what I had seen her do, I crochet (spelling?)my babies a small hat to come home from the hospital when they were born. I love the sweater you just completed and if I ever see some buttons like those I will let you know and mail them to you. Have a great weekend!

  6. Thanks for your comment on my moebius shawl the other day. Yes, I am feeling much better, too, although spring comes slowly in CT!

Your sweater is beautiful! I love the way the 2 colors work together. What pattern did you use?

  7. Hi Sandy,
LOVE this sweater, how fun that all you gals will be wearing this to your tailgating parties! Just seeing this latest creation makes me even more homesick. Ahhhh, to be in a land where people understand what OSU football is all about.

Thanks for always stopping by our blog to see what's going on with us. The latest pictures Tony has posted include Pearl's baptism.

btw...I too love that knittinghelp website!

    Take care and talk soon.

  8. Hi Sandy! You've been so busy. I love all that you've done.

I haven't made a sweater for ages (years and years) but I recently bought patterns and yarn to make TWO sweaters for myself. If only I could buy time, too, I'd be all set.
